Tai Chi is an exercise that aims to strengthen, stretch, balance, and integrate the body. It is often called "moving meditation" because it engages both the mind and body to assist in managing stress. It is a moderate impact aerobic exercise, yet it is gentle enough for anyone. The first 20 minutes are spent relaxing and breathing. Practicing mindfulness, natural and freer breathing and active relaxation. The 2nd 20 minutes is spent on moving QiGong exercises. These exercises are slow, continuous, relaxed and repetitive. These exercises promote dynamic stretching, increased flexibility and bone strengthening. The last 20 minutes of class are spent learning the 8 Tai Chi movements. The Kuang Ping Yan Tai Chi form is used.
