Next time you’re craving sushi, try making it at home. This Spicy Tuna Roll is easier than you’d imagine, and the addition of spicy mayo gives it just the right kick.
Hand Dipping Water
1/4 cup water
1 tbsp. rice vinegar
1 1/2 cups sushi rice, prepared
4 ounces sashimi-grade tuna
1 tbsp. sriracha sauce
1/2 tsp. sesame oil
2 green onions, cut in half crosswise
2 tbsp. white sesame seeds, toasted
2 sheets nori
1 tbsp. Japanese mayonnaise
1 tsp. sriracha sauce
Place nori on bamboo mat. Wet fingers with dipping water, and add 3/4 cup of sushi ice over the nori in an even layer. Next, sprinkle a tbsp. of sesame seeds over the rice. Leave a 1/2 inch border around nori.
Spoon half the tuna mixture over the bottom third of the nori.
Grip the edge of the bamboo mat and roll it forward.
Remove roll from mat and slice in one-inch pieces.
